PROBLEM

Customer required protection of annular space of double walled above ground storage tanks. Customer had been buying various Cortec® products over the years for preservation, hydroblasting, and protection of tubulars.

APPLICATION

VpCI®-307 Powder and water were used in tanks at 1% by volume.

CONCLUSION

VpCI®-307 was easily applied to new storage tanks prior to assembly, was relatively inexpensive, and environmentally safe. Can be used in conjunction with cathodic protection; the standard, though not the most effective form of protection for these tanks.
