PROBLEM
Ford needed short-term protection for steering gear and axle components being shipped to Mexico. Prior to use of Cortec® products, Ford had been using oil and a competitor’s paper to provide corrosion protection. Ford was experiencing rust with this combination.

APPLICATION

VpCI®-126 film was used as a liner in steel shipping bins. Cor-Pak® Film was used in between layers of parts and trays as an interleaving sheet.

CONCLUSION
Cortec® products showed excellent performance in varying environments from cool/damp to hot/humid conditions during transport from Michigan to Mexico. Cortec® has an organized distributor service and their products were easy to apply and economical, as well as reusable and recyclable.
