Steel Pipe Protection

PROBLEM

Zeljezara Sisak needed corrosion protection of steel pipes and various metal parts in transit. They had prevously used Kidal Varnish and Tectyl products from our German competitor.

APPLICATION

For corrosion protection during transport for export, steel pipes were sprayed with VpCI®-368 diluted 1:3 with mineral spirits, and tempered pipes were dipped into VpCI®-368 diluted 1:4 with solvent. In a maintenance area and the central warehouse, VpCI®-368 was used as a coating to protect various metal and spare parts.

CONCLUSION

Zeljezara Sisak used 20 tons of corrosion protection products per year. As they were trying to cut costs by finding more efficient corrosion protection, VpCI®-368 proved to be a better product than the Varnish they had been using. It also provided much better corrosion protection in both open and indoor storage for the sixmonth to two years protection period they needed.
