PROBLEM

The bars were greased in a separate process step, wrapped in ocean paper, and then placed in wood boxes. The grease ontained solvents and was environmentally unfriendly. It caused spills and the operation was costly. The customer had to clean the bars after arrival.

APPLICATION

When packaging 800 kilograms of polished steel bars in wood boxes for domestic and worldwide transport. VpCI® -126 film was placed in the box, wrapped around the bars, and the box was then sealed.

CONCLUSION

The application resulted in lower costs, easier packaging, and less dirt and contaminants. The system was environmentally friendly and provided better and safer packaging and transport.
