PROBLEM
The owner required a complete system of protection and architectural detail for the exterior and interior of the state of the art centre located in the heart of Europe. The application requirements mandated the system to be: cost-effective, easy to apply, and environmentally friendly
APPLICATION
- Silos: The surfaces of the silos were cleaned with VpCI™-414 Cleaner/ Degreaser (diluted 15% with water) and one coat of VpCI™-386 Green was applied.
- Light Poles: The light poles were cleaned with VpCI™-414 Cleaner/Degreaser. One coat of VpCI™-373 was applied to the galvanized surface to improve adhesion of the topcoat. The topcoat chosen was VpCI™-386 Green which was applied by brush to 75-80 microns.
- Floor: The surface of the floor was cleaned with VpCI™-414 Cleaner/Degreaser (diluted 15% with water) to remove any grease or dirt and allowed to dry. MCI®-2026 Concrete Primer was followed by MCI®-2026 Floor Coating. Both were applied by brush to approve overall appearance of floors and to improve worker safety.
- Equipment: The extrusion line was coated by the manufacturer in Italy prior to shipping to Croatia. The system selected was exclusively Cortec’s water-based coating technology.
CONCLUSION
Custom-matched colors were selected by the owner. These coatings provided excellent safety for workers by color coding sections, protecting from heat exposure, and slipping on stairways. Cortec® Corporation products provided corrosion protection, cost-effectiveness, ease of application, and an environmentally friendly solution.
