Challenge

The client requested a protective packaging solution to protect large gas turbines and compressors during the period of storage and transit before they are installed and put under operation. They need continuous protection against salt air and humid environments, moisture, and aggressive industrial atmospheres for up to 24 months.

Application

All sharp edges and corners were inspected and pad. A suitable size of the film was prepared to cover the overall skid. All film was secured with banding shrink at the bottom and then heat-shrink to fit. All zipper doors& vents are installed in specific places. And the final stage was to cover the overall shrink-wrapped films with High strength polyethene net.

Conclusion

The client was grateful for Cortec protective packaging solution using Cortec VpCI^®-126 HP UV Shrink Film since it is suited for transit, staging and outdoor storage.
