PROBLEM
General Motors needed corrosion protection for their reconditioned stamping machines during storage and shipping. These machines are extremely large, and there is no feasible way to ship these machines and keep environmental factors from causing corrosion problems.
APPLICATION
They applied the VpCI®-389 coating on all bare metal surfaces except internal components such as gear housings, bearings, etc., where they used VpCI®-329.
CONCLUSION
Customer liked the idea of using a more environmentally friendly coating like VpCI®-389, and is working well for their needs. General Motors has approved the usage on all their stamping machines moving forward.
