PROBLEM

The customer was previously using ordinary oil for protection. This created corrosion problems. The customer needed 3 year protection inside bogies on trains in operation. Salt, water, and dirt can leak into the bogies, which are wheel houses installed on the wheel axle.

APPLICATION

VpCI®-322 and VpCI®-369 were applied to protect gear boxes in bogies for the Swedish railway. The project was intended for the high speed train X2000 but is now standard for the entire Swedish railway.

CONCLUSION

Cortec® products offered excellent corrosion protection and fulfilled customer’s need.
