PROBLEM

The customer was using an oil-based coating from Houghton to protect machined cast iron brake rotors being shipped from Ohio to Australia and Mexico. They needed a solution that would protect the parts from corrosion during shipment.

APPLICATION

The approximate dilution ratio used was two parts VpCI®-388 to one part water (2:1). This was applied in a dipping process immediately following a cleaning operation where they used VpCI®-416.

CONCLUSION

Cortec® products provided the corrosion prevention solution the customer needed for shipping their parts.
