L&T needed to preserve piping internals for Preassembled Modules (PAMs) for the Zadco’s UZ-750 project in UAE. Modules were fabricated onshore and sailed to the Zakum Islands for final fit up, requiring a preservation period of up to 2 years.
VpCI-337 was identified as the preferred product to unify across all modules as it provided long term multimetal protection.
After hydrotesting, client would drain and air blow water from piping before fogging VpCI-337 through end of piping module. Module was divided in to test packs, where pipe ID and pipe run was known, volume of piping calculated and 1L/m3 was fogged to the system
Cortec VpCI has a long track record within the ADNOC Group of companies. Cortec and Texel were happy to support Zadco in achieving effective preservation in harsh climatic conditions found in the Arabian Peninsular.
