PROBLEM

Santos, a major Australian oil/gas producer was having corrosion problems during equipment lay-up. The equipment was stored in hot, humid and cold environments.

APPLICATION

Santos tried Cortec® VpCI®-307 and VpCI®-309 powders for corrosion protection. Powders were blown into heat exchangers, large vessels, piping, and metal shipping containers holding various types of parts.

CONCLUSION

Cortec® was chosen for corrosion protection because no other competitor could offer an effective protection system that covered so many different types of equipment.
